How to customise action links by platform

Learn how to publish a different website or action link on a specific platform instead of using the same link across all platforms.

By default, the link configured is published to all platforms. However, it can be overridden for a specific platform, applying to both the venue website and action links.

How to customise a link for a platform

  1. Navigate to the Venues tab and select the venue to edit.
  2. Scroll down to the website or action links section and click edit.
  3. For action links, select the link type to modify.
  4. Fill in the default link. This is the link published to all platforms unless customised.
  5. Under "Customise link by platform", fill in the field for the platform you want to customise. Note❗Any platform with a blank field uses and publishes the default link.
  6. Click on save, then publish.

How to stop publishing a link on a specific platform

If a link should appear on some platforms but not on others:

Leave the default link blank and fill in only the platform-specific fields that should display the link. Note❗If both the default link and a platform-specific field are left blank, no link will be published to that platform.

Best practice: Why we recommend using one link for all platforms

As a best practice, we recommend using the same link across every platform. Using different links for the same venue can create inconsistent data across the web. Search engines and AI assistants use data consistency across sources as a key trust signal. Conflicting links can lower their confidence in recognising and ranking the venue correctly.

If different links are required—for example, to track traffic source parameters separately—they can still be configured using the steps above.

Important considerations

Link limits per platform: The number of links accepted varies by platform and link type. If a platform accepts only one link for a specific type, additional links cannot be added. For example:

  • Apple Business Connect, Bing, and TomTom: Accept only one link per type.

  • Google: Accepts multiple links for most types, except for the Menu link.

  • Localistico Store Pages: Accepts multiple links for every type.

  • Platform compatibility: Not every platform supports every link type. Only platforms supporting the selected link type will be displayed during editing.
