[Frequently Asked Questions](https://help.localistico.com/knowledge/frequently-asked-questions?hsLang=en) # What are local searches? ## Local searches happen when a customer is searching online with the objective of finding an offline location to go/visit. These searches usually include some geographical or location-related term. Examples of Local searches are** restaurants in Madrid**, **hairdressers near me**, or **Starbucks London**. ![](https://help.localistico.com/hubfs/Screenshot%202020-05-27%20at%2009.32.39.png) Local results can also appear in generic category searches where usually the intent is to find a physical location. For example: **Italian restaurants** or **insurance agencies**. Usually, the results are located near to you, since your search engine geo-localizes you automatically, turning the search into a local search. ![](https://help.localistico.com/hubfs/Screenshot%202020-05-27%20at%2009.30.52.png) If your company is not purely e-commerce, and your clients usually transact with you on a physical location, you should pay special attention to local searches.
