What does it mean when a profile is claimed? What is the difference between a profile claimed by you and claimed by the others?
Claimed profile means that it has an owner, someone who can control it and update its data, reply to the reviews that have been left under the profile and see its metrics. A profile that is unclaimed is a profile that doesn't have an owner. It is normally created by a platform such as Google or Facebook. These profiles can be claimed to be able to control their data. See this article to know how to claim profiles without any owner. These profiles can be recognized from their grey badge:
In Localistico you may sometimes see a yellow badge and a tag that says that the profile is claimed by others:
This means that the profile is claimed but:
a) you are not the owner of the profile
b)the credentials to manage the profile have not been added in to Localistico.
It's important to request the ownership of these profiles or add the missing credentials, since otherwise you may not be able to update their data. Also, many platforms won't even allow you to create your own profile if there already exists one for the location, since the platforms tend to consider them as duplicates. See this article to know more about claiming profiles that are claimed by others and this article to know how to add the platform credentials.
If the profile is claimed by you and the credentials are correctly added into Localistico the badge is blue, and the profile has a green tag that says that the profile is claimed:
