What does it mean when a profile is claimed? What is the difference between a profile claimed by you and claimed by the others?

A claimed profile indicates that it has an owner who possesses the ability to manage and update its information, respond to reviews, and access performance metrics. In contrast, an unclaimed profile lacks an owner and is typically generated by platforms like Google or Facebook. These unclaimed profiles can be taken over to gain control over their data. See this article to know how to claim profiles without any owner. These profiles can be recognised from their grey badge:

In Localistico you may sometimes see a yellow badge and a tag that says that the profile is claimed by others:

This means that the profile is claimed but:

a) you are not the owner of the profile

b)the credentials to manage the profile are not connected with Localistico.

It is crucial to either request ownership of these profiles or to add the necessary credentials, as failing to do so may prevent you from updating their information. Additionally, many platforms will not permit you to create a new profile if one already exists for the same location, as they often classify these as duplicates. See this article to know more about claiming profiles that are claimed by others and this article to know how to add the platform credentials.

When you are the owner of the profile and have successfully entered the correct credentials into Localistico, the badge will appear blue, accompanied by a green tag indicating that the profile is claimed.
