Managing EV Charging Station profiles on Apple Maps
Direct management of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station profiles is currently unavailable through Apple Business. Understanding the specific limitations and the available alternatives is essential for maintaining a professional brand presence on Apple Maps.
Key Limitations
-
No direct profile management: It is not possible to update EV station details directly within the Apple Business platform.
-
Data updates via Third-Party Partnerships: Data accuracy is maintained through specialised partners. Only selected partners specialising in EV infrastructure (such as Ecomovement) can update station information via a separate partnership channel with Apple.
-
No analytics: Metrics and performance data for EV profiles are not available at this time.
What businesses can do
While individual station data cannot be edited directly, businesses can enhance the presentation of EV stations on Apple Maps by creating a brand profile.
-
Create a brand: Set up a brand on Apple Business. Detailed instructions on how to complete this process can be found in this article (Step 3).
-
Add Visuals: Upload a brand logo and cover photo to the brand profile.
-
Automatic Matching: Apple automatically synchronises EV profiles that share the brand name with the official brand profile. Once matched, the uploaded logo and cover photo are displayed across all associated EV station profiles.
Future updates
Apple is working on implementing new management features for EV profiles. While there is no official release date yet, information will be shared as soon as these features become available. Localistico is collaborating directly with Ecomovement to improve customer data management and alignment, ensuring the best possible representation on Apple Maps.
