Add an opening date for your Google locations to indicate how long they have been in business and let the customers know about new openings.
If you have a new location opening soon, you can create a new profile and add the opening date to announce it to your customers. It is a good opportunity to engage with your customers and announce when and where the new opening will be. On the other hand, setting up a past opening date builds trust between your customers when they see that the company has been doing business for several years.
Please note that this feature is only available for the platform Google.
Setting up the opening date for one venue
1. First, navigate to the venue you would like to edit and click on add opening date. Please note that with the opening date, the store must be marked as open. In Google, the profile will be marked as "opening soon" when the opening date is in the future. For the past openings, Google sometimes shows how long the business has been open.
2. Add the opening date (maximum one year in the future or any date in the past) and click on save:
Add opening dates for several locations/all locations in bulk
You can also import the opening dates in bulk to Localistico. In order to do that, please follow these steps:
1. Export your locations from Localistico
2. Open the file with Excel, Google Sheets or some other application
3. Add the opening date in a new column named opening_date with the following format year-month-day. Example: 2023-03-05
4. Import the file back to Localistico
Publishing locations with opening date
Please note that at the moment only Google supports opening dates. If you publish the location on other platforms such as Facebook, Bing, Yelp, etc. the profiles will be already visible as open.
If you don't want to create the profiles on other platforms until the location is opened, we recommend deselecting those platforms:
